Bringing It In

Movement Source Dance Company presents their season finale, “Bringing It In,” a visual journey exploring various life themes and how we internalize them, including: freedom, connection and beauty in human form. Through modern dance, live music, and film, this multi-media event will take you on a dream-like adventure. It promises to be an intimate spring evening of transformative movement. The company will be presenting pieces created this 2023/2024 season with musical guest artist, Megyn Neff, and guest actor, Jonathan Mincks. Bring a friend and watch, listen, and reflect on thought-provoking dances by performing artists in our local community.

 

The performance will have ASL interpretation.

Arizona Dance Festival


Movement Source proudly joins 23 different dance artists, companies and dance filmmakers from Arizona and out of state in the Arizona Dance Festival 2023 at Tempe Center for the Arts on September 23rd at 7:30pm.

You can see Movement Source on Saturday night, but each evening performance will showcase different dance artists including emerging artists as well as professional companies from all genres and styles of dance. 

A post-performance “Q & A” will be facilitated by the Arizona Dance Coalition directly after the show. The “Q & A” will allow the audience to engage in lively conversation with the artistic directors and choreographers for insights in the creation of their dance works.

Movement Source Dance Company is proud to be guest performers in  Canyon Movement Company’s Virtual Spring Dance Festival Concert!

SIX FEET APART – a Virtual Dance Experience

 

With the current pandemic and social restrictions, we are converting our annual Spring Dance Festival to an online format! This has opened the door for entries from companies that normally wouldn’t be able to travel here to perform. 

 

Dance videos will include dances that have been recorded live in the theater, dances made specifically for film, and new work created and recorded in isolation. Participating artists include: Canyon Movement Company, Velocity Dance Company, Movement Source Dance Company (Phoenix), Cazo Dance Company (Phoenix), David Ramos, Jennifer Knott, Perpetual Motion Dance Company (Oklahoma), and Sasha Chudacoff (Colorado).
